West Ham United have initiated discussions with Borussia Dortmund regarding the potential signing of Germany striker Niclas Fullkrug.
The 31-year-old forward, who netted twice for Germany during Euro 2024, is a key target for Hammers boss Julen Lopetegui as he seeks to bolster his attacking options.
Fullkrug, who scored 16 goals in 46 appearances for Dortmund last season after joining from Werder Bremen for £12.6 million, played a significant role in Dortmund’s run to the Champions League final, where they were defeated by Real Madrid.
West Ham’s pursuit of Fullkrug comes as part of a broader strategy to strengthen their squad.
The club is also in talks with Aston Villa for Colombian forward Jhon Duran and has shown interest in Manchester United full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
In addition to these targets, West Ham have already made notable signings this summer, including Wolves captain Max Kilman for £40 million, goalkeeper Wes Foderingham, and Brazilian winger Luis Guilherme.
Niclas Fullkrug, who was a vital player for Germany despite mostly being used as a substitute during their Euro 2024 campaign, could provide the added firepower West Ham needs to regain their status in European football after missing out last season.
