“We need to concentrate to win”- Thomas Partey on Mali game

Black Stars player, Thomas Teye Partey says Ghana needs maximum concentration to beat Mali in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.

Ghana is currently fifth in Group I with just three points while Mali are second on the log with four points; making the game a must win for both sides.

Speaking ahead of the clash, captain for Ghana, Thomas Partey says the players will do their best to beat Mali but they need to concentrate to get the needed results.

‘’They have shown that in their recent games as my Coach said. We have to do our best. We have to stop them, stop their best players and also concentrate on our way of playing and try to get the results we want’.” He said.

As the captain for the two World Cup qualifying games against Mali and the Central African Republic, Partey believes he has the capabilities to lead the team to glory.

‘’I think I have been out for a while. I came back during the season and finished very well. I have played a lot of games for the national team and I know how we have to play’’.

‘’I know the system that the coach wants and I think with the experience I have, I will be able to get the team together and also to lead the young players who are coming in to be able to get in quite easy’’ Partey added.

The game will take place today at the  Stade du 26-Mars in Bamako at 19:00 GMT.
