The squad announcement was made through an inspiring video that highlighted the young talents in action, generating excitement and widespread praise across social media.

Head coach Yussif Basigi has selected a well-balanced squad, blending experience with emerging talent to represent Ghana on the world stage.

Among the notable inclusions are Jenna Kayla Sarpong, a promising goalkeeper from Auburn University, and Alexandra Emefa Tay, a strong defender from Seattle United ECNL.

The midfield will be strengthened by the return of Stella Nyamekye, who has recovered from an injury that kept her out of the African Games in March. In the attacking lineup, Mafia Nyame of AS FAR will lead the charge, supported by the dynamic pair of Salamatu Abdulai and Mary Amponsah from Ampem Darkoa Ladies.

The video announcement, captioned “Hello Ghana – Your gallant #BlackPrincesses to defend the red, yellow, green and Black Star badge in our seventh appearance,” has stirred national pride and anticipation for the tournament.

Drawn into Group E, the Black Princesses are set to face tough opponents, including Japan, Austria, and New Zealand. Despite having participated in the last six editions of the U-20 Women’s World Cup, the team is determined to make history by advancing beyond the group stage for the first time.
