Saturday night’s draw, held at the Frey Antón de Montecinos monument in Santo Domingo, was orchestrated by FIFA Director of Tournaments Jaime Yarza. He was assisted by Dominican athlete and mountaineer Thais Herrera and Canada-born Mexican player Tatiana Flores. The 16 qualified teams were divided into four pots based on a ranking determined by their past performances in the last five FIFA U17 Women’s World Cups.
