Ten Hag frustrated as Man United draw golless with Crystal Palace

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag expressed his frustration after his team dominated Crystal Palace but failed to find the net in a goalless Premier League draw at Selhurst Park.

After a 7-0 EFL Cup thrashing of Barnsley midweek, United carried their momentum into the first half, cutting through Palace’s defense repeatedly.

Alejandro Garnacho, returning to the starting lineup, had an early shot saved by Dean Henderson, while Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez were also denied by the Palace keeper.

United’s best chance came when Garnacho struck the crossbar, with Bruno Fernandes also hitting the woodwork from the rebound.

“We should have won. In the first half, we ate them alive,” Ten Hag told Sky Sports. “We should be more clinical in the box, where games are decided.”

Palace improved as the match went on, with Eberechi Eze forcing a save from Andre Onana. In the second half, both sides traded chances, but neither team could break the deadlock. Eze missed Palace’s best opportunity, firing wide when unmarked from 12 yards.

VAR also reviewed a dangerous tackle by Martinez, but no action was taken as the defender made no contact with Daichi Kamada.

The result leaves Manchester United 11th in the table, while Palace remain winless in 16th place.
