Manchester City have completed the signing of Brazilian winger Savinho from French club Troyes in a deal worth 40 million euros (£30.8 million).
The 20-year-old joins City on a contract running until 2029, marking a significant move after his impressive loan spell at Girona in La Liga last season, where the team finished third.
Savinho, who also goes by the name Savio, expressed his excitement about joining City, describing them as currently the “best team in the world.” He eagerly looks forward to working under manager Pep Guardiola, whom he hailed as “one of the greatest coaches ever.”

Reflecting on his decision to join Manchester City, Savinho highlighted the club’s stature and his immediate impression upon arrival. “I just got here this morning and I turned to my agent and stepfather and said, ‘there was no way I was going to turn down Manchester City’,” he remarked.
Known for his dynamic playing style, Savinho emphasized his love for attacking football, stating, “I’m a Brazilian who likes to play on the front foot, to be happy, to play joyful football.”
He noted his strengths in one-on-one situations, creating assists, scoring goals, and contributing positively to the team’s performance.
Starting his career at Atletico Mineiro in Brazil, Savinho moved to Troyes in 2022 before loan spells at PSV Eindhoven and Girona. His successful stint at Girona last season, which included 11 goals and 10 assists across all competitions, earned him his first senior call-up for the Brazilian national team in March.
Manchester City’s acquisition of Savinho underscores their commitment to bolstering their squad with talented young players, aligning with their strategic goals for the upcoming seasons in both domestic and European competitions.
