Premier League Fixtures 2024/25: Opening Weekend Matches Revealed

The wait is finally over for football fans as the 2024/25 Premier League season fixtures have been released, signaling the start of an exciting new campaign.

The season kicks off on Friday, August 16th with Manchester United hosting Fulham at Old Trafford, followed by a packed weekend of matches.

Reigning champions Manchester City face a tough away trip to Chelsea on Sunday, August 18th as they bid for an unprecedented fifth consecutive title. Meanwhile, last season’s runners-up Arsenal welcome Wolves to the Emirates Stadium.

The three promoted teams – Ipswich, Leicester, and Southampton – have been handed challenging opening fixtures. Ipswich, returning to the top flight after a 22-year absence, host Liverpool at Portman Road on Saturday, August 17th. Leicester, the Championship title holders, face Tottenham at home, while Southampton travel to Newcastle.

The season will span 33 weekends, with four mid-week rounds and one Bank Holiday round, but without a mid-season break. The final day of the season is set for May 25th, with all 20 teams playing simultaneously in a traditional finale.
