Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Ghana international Thomas Partey is fit and ready to feature in the team’s upcoming Premier League match against Bournemouth on October 19.
The 31-year-old missed Ghana’s recent Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 qualifiers against Sudan due to illness. However, he has since recovered and has been training with the Arsenal squad.
“Thomas Partey is fit and ready,” Arteta said in a press conference. “For Gabriel Martinelli, same as Havertz; we will decide today.”
The Arsenal boss also provided updates on other injured players, including Ben White, Jurrien Timber, and Oleksandr Zinchenko. “Ben White, Timber and Zinchenko are quite close, we hope to have some positive news,” he added.
Partey has been a key player for Arsenal this season, featuring in 9 matches across all competitions. His return to fitness will be a boost for the Gunners as they look to maintain their position in the top four of the Premier League table.
Arsenal currently sits in third place with 17 points from 7 games. A victory over Bournemouth could further solidify their position in the Champions League places.
Arteta’s positive news regarding Partey’s fitness will be welcomed by Arsenal fans, who have seen their team perform well in recent weeks. With Partey back in the lineup, Arsenal will be hoping to continue their strong form and challenge for the Premier League title.
