Ghana legend Malik Jabir has demanded the immediate sacking of Black Stars head coach Otto Addo following the team’s disappointing run in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The call for Addo’s dismissal comes after Ghana’s 2-0 defeat to Sudan, a result that leaves the team on the verge of missing out on AFCON qualification for the first time since 2004.
The loss at the Benina Martyrs Stadium in Libya has placed significant pressure on Addo, with many questioning his leadership during his second stint with the national team.
Speaking in an interview with Akoma FM, Jabir was clear in his criticism. “Otto Addo must be fired, he has not been helpful to our squad during his tenure,” the veteran tactician remarked.

Ghana, a four-time AFCON champion, is now in a precarious position in Group F with just two points from four games.
To have any chance of qualifying for the tournament in Morocco, they must win their final matches against already-qualified Angola and Niger. Additionally, they will need Sudan, who currently have seven points, to falter in their remaining games.
The Black Stars will return to action in November for their decisive final group matches against Niger and Angola.
