Rwandan side Armée Patriotique Rwandaise Football Club (APR FC) have announced the signing of former Asante Kotoko midfielder, Richmond Lamptey.
Lamptey has signed a two-year deal with the Kigali-based club and is expected to earn over USD 5,000 monthly. As part of the transfer deal, Asante Kotoko will receive $150,000.
The 27-year-old midfielder left the PorcRwandan side Armée Patriotique Rwandaise Football Club (APR FC) have announced the signing of former Asante Kotoko midfielder, Richmond Lamptey.upine Warriors after failing to renew his contract following three years with the club. Lamptey initially joined Asante Kotoko in August 2021 after ending his stint with Inter Allies.
During his time with Kotoko, Lamptey made 17 league appearances and provided five assists in the just-ended season, highlighting his significance to the team. He was also a key player in Kotoko’s Ghana Premier League title triumph in 2021.
A product of WAFA, Lamptey has represented Ghana at the international level and was part of the Black Stars’ final squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.
Richmond Lamptey is among 21 players to have been offloaded by Kotoko as the club undergoes a massive overhaul ahead of the new season.
Lamptey’s move to APR FC marks a new chapter in his career, and he is expected to bring his experience and skills to bolster the Rwandan club’s midfield.
