Spain international Nico Williams, of Ghanaian descent, is expected to remain at Athletic Bilbao for the 2024/25 season despite significant interest from top clubs.
The winger, who has impressed with both his club and country, has attracted attention from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Barcelona.
Reports from Spain indicate that Williams is not inclined to move to the French Ligue 1 champions PSG. Meanwhile, Barcelona, while showing strong interest, is facing challenges in meeting the transfer fee demands for the highly-rated attacker.

Despite the transfer speculation, Williams has rejoined his Athletic Bilbao teammates for pre-season training.
He expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming season, stating, “I’m back! I’m really looking forward to this season. Vamos, Athletic!”
Williams had a standout 2023/24 La Liga season, making 31 appearances, scoring five goals, and providing 11 assists. His performances were crucial in helping Spain secure the Euro 2024 title, with a victory over England in the final.
As Athletic Bilbao gears up for the new campaign, Williams’ presence is expected to be a significant boost for the team.
