Petrocub Hîncești, the reigning champions of Moldova, have reportedly parted ways with Ghanaian football administrator Nana Yaw Amponsah, according to reports from Eastern Europe.
Earlier this year, Amponsah and his Samaritan Investment Group took over leadership at the Municipal Stadium outfit, heralding a new era for the Moldovan side.
Previously the CEO of Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah assumed the role of president at Petrocub and oversaw a highly successful period. Under his leadership, Petrocub clinched their first Moldovan Premier League title and the Moldovan Cup in the previous season.

However, despite these achievements, tensions between Amponsah’s group and Petrocub’s board of directors escalated, ultimately leading to his contract termination.
Reports from Moldfootball.com indicate that all players brought in during Amponsah’s tenure have departed just ahead of Petrocub’s scheduled UEFA Champions League qualifying match today, Wednesday.
The abrupt change in leadership and the sudden overhaul of the roster have raised concerns about the club’s preparedness for the upcoming competitive season. The decision marks a significant setback for Petrocub as they navigate through crucial stages in European and domestic competitions.
As Petrocub Hîncești gears up for their UEFA Champions League qualifying match, the club faces uncertainty and challenges in maintaining the momentum built under Amponsah’s tenure. The developments cast a shadow over their immediate future as they strive to uphold their championship status.
