MTN FA Cup: Nsoatreman FC and Bofoakwa Tano set for crunchy final showdown

Nsoatreman FC will face off against regional rivals Bofoakwa Tano FC in a highly anticipated MTN FA Cup final on the evening of Sunday, June 23, at the University of Ghana Stadium.

Both teams, despite having challenging seasons in the Ghana Premier League, have a chance to end their campaigns on a high note by securing a trophy.

Bofoakwa Tano, who have been relegated from the top flight, are determined to give their all in this match to secure a spot in the CAF Confederations Cup.

The ‘Efiri Tete Amanaso’ outfit began their FA Cup journey with a commanding 3-0 victory over Maana FC, followed by a narrow win against Victory Club Warriors. They then advanced through a penalty shootout victory over Berekum Chelsea in the Round of 16.

Nsoatreman FC showcased their strength with a 2-1 triumph over Legon Cities FC in the semi-finals, earning their place in the final. This victory came after they edged out Karela United with a 1-0 win in the quarter-finals.

Bofoakwa Tano’s path to the final was equally impressive. They started with a 3-0 win over Sunyani Oxford in the first round and secured narrow victories against Berekum City and Wa Power FC in the subsequent rounds. Their resilience was evident when they overcame Skyy FC in a penalty shootout in the Round of 8. They then stunned holders Dreams FC with a 2-1 extra-time victory to reach the final.

Both teams have reported no major injury or suspension concerns and will have their full-strength squads available for this crucial encounter.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 18:00 GMT (6:00 pm).

The winner of this final will not only lift the prestigious MTN FA Cup but also earn a place in the next CAF Confederation Cup and the GHALCA Top 4, as confirmed by GHALCA President Kudjoe Fianoo.
