Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu played a pivotal role in helping Monaco stage a remarkable comeback against Dinamo Zagreb in the UEFA Champions League.
The 25-year-old centre-back scored a crucial goal in the 74th minute to reduce the deficit after Monaco had gone down 2-0.
Dinamo Zagreb had taken a commanding lead thanks to goals from Petar Suči and Martin Baturina in the 42nd and 66th minutes, respectively. However, Monaco refused to give up and fought back with determination.
Salisu’s goal provided a much-needed spark for Monaco, and the team continued to push for an equalizer. In the 90th minute, Denis Zakaria completed the comeback with a goal to salvage a point for the French side.
The draw leaves Monaco in 14th place in the Champions League table with four points from two matches. They will now turn their attention to their next league match against Rennes in Ligue 1 on October 5th.
