Mohammed Kudus vows to maintain playing style under new West Ham manager

West Ham United’s star midfielder, Mohammed Kudus, has declared his intention to stick to his distinctive playing style despite the managerial change at the club ahead of the new Premier League season.

The 23-year-old Ghana international, known for his dribbling skills made a significant impact in his debut season under former manager David Moyes.

Kudus, who scored eight goals and provided six assists last season, spoke confidently about adapting to the new management while retaining his unique style.

“Personally, my style of play will always stay the same,” he stated. “I’ll need to blend in and do what the coach wants, give the team the results they want but I’m still going to be me and the stuff you see me doing is still going to be the same just under a different coach.”

With West Ham appointing former Real Madrid manager Julen Lopetegui, Mohammed Kudus acknowledged the challenges that come with adjusting to different managerial systems.

“It’s definitely very difficult to get used to every system every single time. Even playing with the club team and national team different coaches as well,” he remarked. “As part of our job, being versatile to be able to adapt to different kinds of coaches is a main key that we have to be always up for so whichever coach that comes.”

Kudus’ impressive performance on the pitch was recently recognized as he was awarded the Ghana Football Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. This accolade underscores his consistency and excellence in the sport.

As the new Premier League season approaches, fans and analysts alike will be keen to see how Kudus adapts to Lopetegui’s system while continuing to showcase the flair and creativity that have made him a standout player at West Ham United.
