Mohammed Kudus responds to transfer rumours

Black Stars midfielder Mohammed Kudus has addressed recent transfer rumours, labeling them as “normal” given his impressive performances.

However, Kudus emphasised that his primary focus is on preparing for the upcoming 2024/25 season, set to kick off on Friday, August 16.

In an interview with The Athletic’s Adam Leventhal, Kudus acknowledged that playing in the English Premier League naturally attracts interest from other clubs.

“When you perform at those kinds of levels in a league like this, it’s normal to have rumours and hear about other clubs,” he remarked.

Despite the speculation, Kudus remains committed to his current club, West Ham United, and is concentrating on the new season. “But right now my focus is getting prepared for the new season and then we will see how everything goes,” he added.

Reflecting on his debut season in the Premier League, Kudus acknowledged the challenges of maintaining high standards in a competitive environment where he is now a known quantity. “Setting the standard is not as difficult as maintaining it,” he noted. “It’s going to be even tougher now everybody knows me. But I’m still far from my top abilities. The first season was just the beginning.”

Kudus has already started training under West Ham’s new manager, Julen Lopetegui, as they gear up for their first game of the season at home against Aston Villa on Saturday, August 17. The midfielder is eager to build on his successful start and continue showcasing his talent in one of the world’s most demanding football leagues.
