In a heartfelt gesture, Medeama SC visited the family of their late former striker Hans Kwofie to offer condolences following his tragic death in a car crash.
The former Ghana Premier League Golden Boot winner passed away on Friday in a fatal accident at Dadwen.
“Our team, led by the MCE of Tarkwa Nsuaem, Hon. Benjamin Kessie, visited the family of our late former player, Hans Kwofie, to pay our respects and offer our condolences. His legacy will always be remembered,” the club wrote after the visit.

Kwofie, 35, was traveling to his hometown of Dompim Pepesa when the accident occurred, claiming his life instantly.
He was well-known in the Ghanaian football community, having had successful stints with several top clubs.
Kwofie’s illustrious career included a standout period in Obuasi with three-time Premier League champions AshantiGold, where he won the Premier League top scorer award in 2017. He also played for Legon Cities and Aduana Stars, contributing significantly to their campaigns.
The former striker’s untimely death on June 21, 2024, has sent shockwaves through the football community. Kwofie had been released by Medeama in August 2023 and subsequently joined Aduana Stars before moving to Nepali side Birgunj United FC.
In addition to his domestic success, Kwofie showcased his talent internationally, featuring for Qatari club Al-Oruba and Egyptian outfit Smouha FC.
