Manchester United are nearing a deal to sign Bayern Munich defenders Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui in a move expected to exceed £60 million.
The proposed deal includes a £38.6 million bid plus £4.3 million in add-ons for De Ligt, with an additional £12.9 million set aside for Mazraoui.
Bayern Munich have accepted United’s offer for De Ligt, who previously captained Erik ten Hag’s Ajax side that reached the Champions League semi-final in 2019.
De Ligt, 24, joined Bayern from Juventus in 2022 for £65.6 million, after making a £67.5 million move to Juventus in 2019. He has made 73 appearances for Bayern, winning the Bundesliga during his tenure.

In addition to De Ligt, Manchester United are set to secure Mazraoui, 26, for £12.9 million. Mazraoui’s arrival is linked to the anticipated departure of right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who is undergoing a medical with West Ham after a deal was agreed for his transfer.
United’s focus on strengthening central defense and right-back positions reflects their ongoing efforts to enhance Erik ten Hag’s squad.
The club had earlier bids for Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite rejected, with the £70 million valuation deemed excessive. Consequently, De Ligt is seen as a more experienced and cost-effective option.
Both De Ligt and Mazraoui previously played alongside Maanchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana at Ajax, adding a familiar dynamic to the potential new-look defense at Old Trafford.
