Luis Diaz scored twice in quick succession as Liverpool returned to winning ways with a dominant 3-0 victory over Bournemouth at Anfield.
After a narrow loss to Nottingham Forest the previous weekend, Liverpool were under early pressure when Bournemouth thought they had opened the scoring through Antoine Semenyo, only for the goal to be ruled out by VAR for offside.
The Reds quickly took control, with Luis Diaz breaking the deadlock by rounding Kepa Arrizabalaga and slotting the ball into an empty net. He doubled his tally moments later, receiving a pass from Trent Alexander-Arnold and firing through Kepa’s legs to make it 2-0.
Darwin Nunez, making his first Premier League start since April, added a third with a stunning curling effort, marking his first league goal in over five months.
Liverpool’s summer signing Federico Chiesa made an impact on his Premier League debut, narrowly missing out on a goal after hitting the woodwork, though the effort was flagged offside.

Bournemouth struggled to find a way back, with the crossbar denying them late on as Andoni Iraola’s side slipped to their second consecutive defeat.
The win temporarily lifted Liverpool to the top of the Premier League, ahead of Sunday’s clash between Manchester City and Arsenal.
