Stand-in captain Mohammed Kudus has publicly apologised to Ghanaians following the Black Stars’ disappointing performances against Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
After holding Sudan to a goalless draw in their first encounter, Ghana succumbed to a 2-0 defeat in the reverse fixture on October 15, leaving the team in a precarious position.
In a statement issued on behalf of the team, Kudus expressed regret over their poor showing and asked for forgiveness.
“As someone who captained the team in the two games, it is with great humility and a deep sense of responsibility that I issue this statement. On behalf of the entire team, I would like to extend our sincerest apologies to the people of Ghana for our recent performances against Sudan in Accra and Libya,” the West Ham United star stated.
