Former Liverpool star John Barnes has suggested that Ghana star Mohammed Kudus could be an ideal successor to Mohamed Salah at Anfield.
Salah, who joined Liverpool from AS Roma in 2017, is currently in the final year of his contract with the club. His future at Liverpool remains uncertain amid growing interest from Saudi Pro League clubs.
This potential departure has led Barnes to consider Kudus as a suitable replacement.
Barnes highlighted Kudus’ dynamic and direct playing style, which he believes closely resembles that of the Egyptian winger.
“Kudus was fantastic. He was sensational for West Ham last season. Even Mohamed Salah says he won’t be here in three years’ time so that could be a role that Kudus takes on,” Barnes told BettingExpert.

“He’s young, he’s dynamic, he’s direct and he plays in a similar fashion to Mo.”
Kudus made an immediate impact at West Ham United last season after moving from Ajax. The 23-year-old Ghana international scored eight goals and provided five assists in the Premier League, while also contributing in the Europa League.
Currently on preseason with West Ham in America, Kudus continued to impress, finding the net in a 3-1 loss to Wolves on Sunday. His performances have solidified his reputation as a rising star, potentially paving the way for a future at a top club like Liverpool.
