Asante Kotoko have strengthened their squad by signing Ghanaian defender Joseph Ablorh from Guinea Premier League club Hafia FC on a two-year deal.
The club announced the addition on Wednesday through an official statement on their website.
“Asante Kotoko is delighted to announce the signing of 26-year-old Joseph Ablorh on a two-year contract, following the successful completion of his medical examination in Accra,” the statement read.
The club highlighted Ablorh’s impressive attributes, stating, “Joseph Ablorh was a standout player for Hafia FC, recognized for his strong tackling, aerial prowess, and leadership qualities. His stellar performances in the 2020/2021 Guinean top-flight season earned him a spot in the Team of the Season, underscoring his reliability and impact on the field.”
This signing comes as part of Asante Kotoko’s efforts to rebuild their squad after releasing over 20 players at the end of the 2023/24 season. The Porcupine Warriors, who finished sixth in the Ghana Premier League, are aiming to improve their performance in the upcoming season.
While it may be too soon for Ablorh to feature, Asante Kotoko are gearing up to face their arch-rivals, Hearts of Oak, in the inaugural edition of the Democracy Cup on Wednesday in Accra.
