Harry Kane scored his first Bundesliga goal of the season, leading Bayern Munich to a 2-0 victory over SC Freiburg at the Allianz Arena.
Kane converted a penalty in the 38th minute after Freiburg’s Christian Gunter handled the ball inside the penalty area, sending goalkeeper Florian Muller the wrong way.
This match was also significant for Bayern’s Thomas Muller, who made his 710th competitive appearance, surpassing the record previously held by German legend Sepp Maier. Muller celebrated the milestone by scoring his 150th Bundesliga goal in the 78th minute, doubling Bayern’s lead and marking a memorable occasion for the club.
Bayern Munich, under new manager Vincent Kompany, has now secured two wins from two matches in the league. Kane’s penalty gave the hosts control, while Muller’s goal ensured the points were safe in Kompany’s first home league game in charge.

Freiburg had their chances, particularly through substitute Lucas Holer, who missed a penalty in stoppage time after Joao Palhinha handled Ritsu Doan’s volley in the area. Despite dominating possession, Freiburg struggled to convert their opportunities into goals.
Kane’s performance continues to impress as he builds on his successful debut season in Germany, where he scored 36 goals last season. The forward’s ability to find the net consistently has made him a key player for Bayern as they aim for another successful campaign.
Bayern’s next challenge comes on September 14, when they face newly-promoted Holstein Kiel away from home. The team will look to maintain their strong start to the season and build momentum as they pursue further success in the Bundesliga.
