Ghana international Joseph Paintsil played a pivotal role in the Los Angeles Galaxy’s 3-2 victory over the Colorado Rapids on Wednesday night in matchday 25 of Major League Soccer (MLS).
Diego Fagundez opened the scoring for the home team at the Dignity Health Sports Park just 12 minutes into the game. Colorado’s Kevin Cabral equalized, but Paintsil restored Galaxy’s lead 25 minutes later, knocking in from close range after a precise square pass from Gabriel Pec to make it 2-1.
Paintsil further contributed to Galaxy’s offense by setting up former Barcelona midfielder Riqui Puig, who extended the lead. Despite a late first-half goal from the visitors, making it 3-2, the second half saw no further goals.
Both teams had solid efforts, but Galaxy managed to secure all three points.
With this performance, Joseph Paintsil now has 12 goal involvements in 21 outings this season, consisting of seven goals and five assists.
The victory bolsters Galaxy’s position in the league, with Paintsil’s form proving crucial to their campaign.
