Ghana international Mohammed Kudus has revealed that he was ready for the English Premier League before making the 43 million move from Ajax Amsterdam to West Ham United last year.
Speaking to the media after he was unveiled as the new brand ambassador of Tecno Mobile, Kudus said there is a vast difference between the Premier League and the Dutch Eredivisie.
However, he said, he was ready before taking the challenge to come play in one of the best leagues in the world.
“I will also agree to the fact that the Premier League is one of the best in the world, but before I took the challenge on, I was buckled and knew I was ready for it,” he said.
The 23-year old midfielder also gave credit to his teammates and staff at West Ham for helping him settle well in his new environment.
Kudus recently won Footballer of the Year and the Goal of the Year at the Ghana Football Awards for his stunning solo strike against SC Freiburg which also won him the UEFA Europa Goal of the Season.
The Ghanaian starboy as he’s affectionately called by many is poised for the new season but admits it would be much tougher than the just ended campaign.
Kudus registered eight goals and six assists in 33 Premier League games last season.
