Black Stars attacker, Jordan Ayew says he always puts the country first in every game though he is played out of his favourite position.
The Crystal Palace player loves to play as an arrow-head known as the number 9 position. However, he is mostly deployed at the wings for both club and country.
Jordan scored a hat-trick for Ghana against the Central African Republic when the Stars beat the Wild Beasts 4-3 in the 2026 World Cup qualifier.
Speaking after the game, Ayew revealed his aim is to perform his duty regardless of where he is asked to play.
“I’ve been playing out of position for quite some time in the national team and also at the club level. But I have always done my duty, put my country first, and never complained because I always give my all.”
“It’s difficult. It’s not something that I like to talk about, but obviously, my favourite position right from the academy, France, in the national team has always been as a number 9. But I understand because I have qualities that allow me to play in the pockets of spaces, and I don’t complain,” he added.
Jordan Ayew has scored 27 goals in 101 caps for the Black Stars of Ghana.
