Hearts stage comeback against Bechem United to escape relegation

Accra Hearts of Oak recorded a 3-2 win over Bechem United on the final day of the Ghana Premier League at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park to escape relegation.

Emmanuel Owusu scored in the 29th minute to give the Hunters the lead against the Phobians.

However, former Bechem United captain, Kofi Agbesimah restored parity three minutes later. Bismark Edjeodji scored to give the home side the lead 2-1.

In the 71st minute Kelvin Osei Assibey scored the second goal for Hearts before Yaw Amankwa Baafi scored in the dying embers of the game to complete the comeback.

This crucial victory was essential for Hearts of Oak, as it guaranteed their stay in the GhanaPremier League. They finished the season in 14th place with 45 points after 34 matches.
