Accra Hearts of Oak and Accra Great Olympics played out a goalless draw in a crucial Ghana Premier League game at the Accra sports stadium.
Both teams are involved in a survival of the fittest tussle to avoid relegation in this season’s Ghana Premier League.
In the first half of the game, it was Accra Hearts of Oak that created decent chances to take the lead in the game. Martin Karikari and Hamza Issah two good opportunities to grab all three points for the phobians.
Hamaza missed from close range after Karikari’s ball was saved by Great Olympics’ goalkeeper Benjamin Asare in the opening embers of the game.
In the dying embers of the first half, a howler from goalkeeper Benjamin Asare created a big chance for Hearts to score but the referee whistled for the end of the half while the rainbow boys were in a goal scoring mood.
The second half did not showcase a lot of scoring opportunities as the derby ended in stalement.
The draw means both teams must win their last game of the season to ensure survival in the league. Hearts of Oak will play against Bechem United at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park in Bechem while Olympics lock horns with RTU who have been already relegated.
