Ghana’s promising female table tennis talent, Juanita Borteye, has secured the 11th spot in the African Table Tennis rankings, following impressive performances at the African Games, West African regional championship, ITTF Africa Cup, and Olympic Games qualification tournaments.
Expressing her excitement, Juanita aims to train overseas to enhance her performance and climb higher in the rankings. According to the International Table Tennis Federation, she is currently ranked 167th in the world and holds the top position in Ghana.
Juanita is appealing to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, as well as philanthropists and NGOs, to support her aspiration of becoming a professional player, with the goal of winning a gold medal for Ghana. Her success not only boosts her confidence but also serves as an inspiration for other young players in the country to strive for excellence.
Playing for the Rising Star Foundation and trained by Enoch Nii Otu, Juanita receives unwavering support from the Ghana Table Tennis Association. President Mawuko Afadzinu and his team are dedicated to advancing table tennis at all levels, ensuring that young talents like Juanita receive the opportunities and encouragement they need to succeed.
