Ghanaian defender Abdul Mumin played a pivotal role in Rayo Vallecano’s 2-1 victory over Real Sociedad in their opening La Liga match.
The 25-year-old centre-back showcased his offensive abilities when he set up Jorge de Frutos for the opening goal in the 68th minute.
Sergio Camello doubled Rayo Vallecano’s advantage in the 84th minute, but Real Sociedad managed to pull one back through Martin Zubimendi in stoppage time. However, it was too little too late for the visitors as Rayo held on for the three points.
Mumin, who made 22 appearances and scored once for the club last season, will be looking to build on this impressive performance and contribute more consistently to Rayo Vallecano’s campaign.
Abdul Mumin and his teammates will be aiming to carry this momentum into their next league match against an opponent to be determined on August 24.
