Ghanaian forward Jalal Abdullai has extended his contract with Swedish top-flight side IF Elfsborg until the summer of 2028.
The 18-year-old expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to continue his development with the club.
“It feels very good to have signed and to continue to develop in IF Elfsborg,” Abdullai said. “I think this is absolutely the right place for me to be, where I can continue to play and develop in a good association. Everyone in the team and around the club has treated me well since I came here and I am very happy to continue playing here.”
Jalal Abdullai joined IF Elfsborg from Ghanaian lower-tier side Inter Allies FC in the summer of 2023. Since his arrival, he has made a significant impact on the team’s performance, making 36 appearances and scoring 11 goals with 1 assist in all competitions.
IF Elfsborg currently sits in 6th place in the Swedish Allsvenskan with 33 points after 21 games. Their next league match is against Halmstad on September 16.
The young forward’s contract extension reflects his belief in IF Elfsborg’s ability to provide him with the platform he needs to reach his full potential. As the club continues to compete at the highest level of Swedish football, Abdullai’s development will be closely watched by fans and football experts alike.
