Ghanaian Starlet Christopher Bonsu Baah Shines Despite Genk’s Europa Conference League Playoff Loss

Christopher Bonsu Baah

Ghanaian forward Christopher Bonsu Baah could not help KRC Genk secure Europa Conference League qualification as they fell 1-0 to KAA Gent in the Belgian Pro League Conference League Play Off.

The 19-year-old came off the bench in the 70th minute, replacing Konstantinos Karetsas, but Gent held firm after Andrew Hjulsager’s 60th-minute goal. Despite a 6.8 rating from SofaScore, Baah’s impact wasn’t enough to overturn the deficit.

This defeat concludes Genk’s season, marking a missed opportunity for European football.  Baah, who joined Genk from Norway’s Sarpsborg in 2023, has impressed in his debut season. Across all competitions, he has notched 2 goals and 2 assists in 47 appearances.

Christopher Bonsu Baah will be looking to build on this experience and return stronger next season, aiming to help Genk challenge for trophies and European qualification.
