Ghanaian football prodigy, Abdul Aziz Issah, has made a historic transfer to Spanish giants FC Barcelona.
The 18-year-old attacker completed his move on transfer deadline day, joining the Catalan club from Dreams FC in the Ghana Premier League.
FC Barcelona has signed Aziz Issah on a loan deal and can negotiate for a permanent deal after the 2024/25 season. However, as per the agreement, Issah will play for Barça Atlètic that is the B team of the club during the loan period that will last up to June 30, 2025. This will allow him to adapt to the European style of play and prove his worth at the highest level.
Abdul Aziz Issah, who was recently recognized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as one of the continent’s most promising young talents, has been a standout performer in the Ghana Premier League and the CAF Confederation Cup. His impressive performances, including four goals and two assists in 10 games last season, helped Dreams FC reach a historic semi-final berth in the African club competition.
This transfer marks a significant milestone for both Issah and Dreams FC. This move by the Ghanaian teenager to one of the best football clubs in the world shows he had a lot of talent and determination. It is a proud moment for Dreams FC as they have developed yet another talent that is capable of joining the European leagues.
Issah’s transfer to FC Barcelona follows in the footsteps of fellow Ghanaian David Oduro, who also joined the Spanish club from Accra Lions last week. The presence of two Ghanaian players at Barcelona is a positive sign for Ghanaian football, as it highlights the country’s growing reputation for producing talented young players.
