Ghanaian-Nigerian Boxer Wahab Draws Inspiration from Anthony Joshua Ahead of WBC Title Fight

Accra-based Nigerian boxer Joshua Seunzy Wahab Oluwaseun and his team, led by Coach Charles Quartey, recently met with World Heavyweight Champion Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia, drawing significant inspiration ahead of a crucial match. This encounter marks a dream come true for Wahab as he prepares to compete for the World Boxing Council (WBC) Lightweight Silver title in Riyadh on Saturday, May 18th, 2024.

Wahab will face the undefeated English boxer John Mark Chamberlain in an undercard bout to the main event featuring Alexander Usyk and Tyson Fury.

Managed by Streetwise Management & Promotions under Michael Amoo Bediako’s leadership, Wahab has been training intensely in Accra for this global event. Determined to secure a victory, Wahab has dedicated his performance to celebrating with his Ghanaian and Nigerian families.

Coach Charles Quartey, who also serves as President of the United Boxing Coaches Association, believes that a victory for the Ghanaian-Nigerian Boxer could opening doors for more West African boxers on the international scene. Assistant Trainer Ernest Ofori shares this confidence, and the entire team is behind Wahab, ready to make history.
