Alfred Duncan has bid farewell to Italian club Fiorentina following the expiration of his contract after a four-year spell with the Serie A outfit.
The 31-year-old midfielder, who joined Fiorentina in August 2022, and the club have mutually agreed to part ways as he explores new opportunities in the ongoing summer transfer window.
Duncan leaves Fiorentina having amassed 126 appearances across various competitions, contributing six goals and playing a pivotal role in the team’s campaigns.
In the recently concluded season, he showcased his influence by scoring two goals and providing five assists in 41 matches, notably aiding Fiorentina’s journey to the finals of the UEFA Europa Conference League, where they narrowly lost to Olympiacos.
With a career primarily rooted in Italian football, Duncan has previously represented clubs such as Inter Milan’s youth team, Livorno, Sampdoria, Sassuolo, and Cagliari. His versatility and experience in midfield have made him a respected figure in Serie A.
Internationally, Duncan has earned 10 caps for Ghana’s national team, the Black Stars, since his debut in November 2012, further underlining his pedigree and contribution to both club and country.
