Ghanaian defender Terry Yegbe was instrumental for IF Elfsborg as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Mjallby AIF in the Swedish Allsvenskan on Sunday.

The 23-year-old centre-back opened the scoring for Elfsborg in the 16th minute, showcasing his attacking prowess. However, Mjallby responded ten minutes later through Herman Johansson to level the scores.

Yegbe played the entire match, putting in a solid defensive performance, winning four duels, making two interceptions, and blocking a shot. His impressive display earned him a 7.8 rating from Sofascore. Unfortunately, Elfsborg finished the game with ten men after Kenyan midfielder Timothy Ouma was sent off. Ghanaian duo of Jalal Abdullai and Michael Baidoo also featured in the match for Elfsborg.

With this goal, Terry Yegbe has now scored three times and provided one assist in 18 appearances across all competitions for Elfsborg this season.

Elfsborg currently occupies the seventh position on the league table with 29 points after 29 matches. Their focus now shifts to the Europa League qualifier where they will face Norway’s Molde on August 22nd.

Yegbe’s consistent performances have undoubtedly caught the attention of many, and his contributions will be crucial for Elfsborg as they aim to progress in the Europa League and climb the Allsvenskan standings.
