Ghanaian Defender Nicholas Opoku Seals Move to Kasimpasa

Ghanaian defender  Nicholas Opoku has signed a two-year deal with Turkish Super Lig side Kasimpasa SK.

The 27-year-old centre-back joins the Istanbul-based club on a free transfer after his contract with French Ligue 2 outfit Amiens SC expired..

Opoku brings a wealth of experience to Kasimpasa, having amassed 102 appearances for Amiens during his three-year stint. The versatile defender is no stranger to European football, having previously played for Udinese in Italy. Nicholas Opoku initially joined Amiens on loan from Udinese in 2020, before securing a permanent deal a year later.

In a swift turn of events, Opoku is set to make his debut for Kasimpasa just hours after completing his transfer. The Ghanaian defender has been named in the starting lineup for their Super Lig clash against Adana Demirspor on August 19.

Kasimpasa will be counting on Opoku to strengthen their defensive line as they aim to improve on their fifth-place finish in the Turkish Super Lig last season.

A product of Ghanaian club Berekum Chelsea, Opoku has represented Ghana at various youth levels and has earned 18 caps for the Black Stars.
