Head Coach for the Black Princesses of Ghana, Yussif Basigi says the team is preparing well but needs more friendly games for the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Ghana have qualified for the 2024 World Cup to be staged in Colombia after an impressive qualifiers. However, upon qualifying for the seventh consecutive time for the tournament, the team is yet to qualify to the knockout stages of the World Cup.
Speaking on their preparations for the tournament earmarked to start on 31st August 2024, he said, “Definitely, when it comes to such preparations, you will need matches to play. But to begin with, we have started playing some medium-profile games around since many of the female clubs are not in session,” he said.
“We have decided to play with U-13 boys so we take it from there and I know as and when we are progressing, other matches will follow,” he added.
Ghana have been housed in Group E with Japan, New Zealand and Austria.
