Ghanaian winger Fatawu Issahaku has expressed his delight after Leicester City secured a 1-0 victory over AFC Bournemouth in the English Premier League.
The 21-year-old came on as a substitute for Stephy Mavididi in the 82nd minute and contributed to the Foxes’ success. Following the victory over Bournemouth, Issahaku took to Instagram to praise his teammates and the club’s supporters. “Great effort from the lads and amazing 3+points. Amazing support from the best fans in the world,” he wrote.
The match-winning goal was scored by F. Buonanotte in the 16th minute, giving the Foxes a crucial three points. Other Ghanaian players involved in the match included Jordan Ayew for Leicester City and Antoine Semenyo for Bournemouth.
With the win, Leicester City moved up to 15th place in the Premier League table with 6 points after 7 matches. They will next face Southampton on October 19 after the international break.
Issahaku, who has made 9 appearances and provided 1 assist for Leicester this season, will join the Ghana national team for their upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sudan. The matches are scheduled for October 10 and 15, respectively. Fatawu Issahaku will be hoping to make a strong impact for his country and help them secure a place in the tournament.
