Black Stars winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has officially signed a permanent five-year contract with Leicester City.
The 20-year-old impressed during his loan spell from Sporting Lisbon last season, playing a crucial role in Leicester City’s Championship triumph.
His dribbling skills, pace, attacking flair, and defensive work ethic quickly made him a fan favourite.
The £14 million transfer, anticipated to be Leicester’s first summer signing, was confirmed by Sporting’s manager in May. Issahaku himself recently hinted at the move on social media.
Fatawu becomes the fourth summer arrival for manager Steve Cooper, joining Bobby De Cordova-Reid, Michael Golding, and Caleb Okoli. Additionally, Wilfred Ndidi’s recent contract renewal has further strengthened the squad as the new Premier League season approaches in five weeks.
Fatawu adds significant firepower to Leicester’s attack, having contributed seven goals and 13 assists last season. He peaked towards the end of the campaign, delivering a standout performance with a hat-trick in the 5-0 demolition of Southampton, a key moment in City’s title run.
