Ghana winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has praised his on-pitch connection with Leicester City legend Jamie Vardy, revealing the strong bond they share as they continue to make an impact together.
In Monday night’s match at the King Power Stadium, Issahaku set up Vardy for his first goal of the season in Leicester City’s 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur.
The 20-year-old Ghanaian has quickly forged a strong partnership with Vardy, playing a pivotal role in Leicester’s promotion to the Premier League last season.
“Jamie Vardy is always there, I know where he is,” Issahaku said after the game. “Anytime I get the ball, I think of him and where to put the ball for him to score. Fortunately, today, it happened again and I’m so happy.”
Leicester’s performance showed resilience after conceding an early goal to Pedro Porro. The team rallied in the second half, reflecting on strategic adjustments made during the break.

“It’s about the coach,” Issahaku added. “In the second half, he spoke to us in the dressing room, how to get it easier for ourselves as a team. We did it and I think that’s why we came on in the game.”
Fatawu Issahaku focused on new season
The Ghanaian forward’s strong start to the season follows his permanent move to Leicester City from Sporting CP, after impressing during a loan spell last year. Issahaku is eager to continue his promising form and maintain his place in the Black Stars squad.
“As a team, especially with how we played, it’ll give us more confidence,” he said. “We know we can give more. This game will give us more tactics to learn. I think we are going to do more and show more to get better.”
