Ernest Nuamah seals permanent deal with Lyon after impressive loan spell

Black Stars winger Ernest Nuamah has secured an extended stay at Olympique Lyonnais (OL) after an impressive loan spell with the club.

Joining on loan in the summer of 2023, the former Right to Dream academy standout has consistently showcased his talent and potential throughout the season.

During his loan tenure, Nuamah made a significant impact, featuring in 33 matches across all competitions and netting 3 goals. The 20-year-old has impressed with his exceptional speed, dynamism, and incisiveness on the pitch, catching the attention of both his coach and the club’s management.

Nuamah’s journey to OL began at FC Nordsjaelland in Denmark, where he made a name for himself between January 2022 and August 2023. During his time there, he played 49 matches and scored 20 goals, earning his move to Lyon.

His seamless adaptation to top-flight football and consistent performances have led OL to extend his stay, banking on his potential for further growth and contribution to the team.

At just 20 years old, Nuamah has already earned 11 caps for the Ghanaian national team, highlighting his rising profile in international football.

Nuamah is set to resume training on Monday, July 8, as OL prepares for the upcoming season. His extended presence at OL is a testament to his hard work, talent, and the belief that the club has in his abilities.
