Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia has supported Hasaacas Ladies financially as they prepare for the CAF Women’s Champions League Qualifiers.
The winners of the ended Women’s Premier League received a cash donation of $10,000 from the Vice President of Ghana.
The presentation of the donation was done on behalf of Dr Bawumia by his personal aide Tamimu Issah at the Oak Plaza hotel.
“The Vice President has been a strong supporter of female football. As you can recall a few years ago when Hasaacas qualified for the first-ever CAF Champions League zonal championship in Ivory Coast, the team launched a public appeal for support to enable them participate in the competition.
” His excellency saw the public appeal…he responded positively and supported them with some money that cushioned them to support in that competition,” Tamimu said.
“He’s remained committed to supporting women’s football and Ghanaian female champions. The team is scheduled to leave Ghana to participate in the championship so he sent me to extend his support to them; we are supporting them with $10,000 to cushion them for the championship.” He added.
Hasaacas Ladies have been housed in Group B of the tournament and have paired with Omnisports Etincelle, Edo Queens and AS Garde National.
