Como secured their first Serie A victory of the season with a sensational 3-2 comeback win over Atalanta at the Gewiss Stadium.
The victory marked a significant milestone for Como, who returned to the top flight after a lengthy absence.
Atalanta, fresh from their Europa League triumph, started the match on the front foot and deservedly took the lead through Davide Zappacosta in the 18th minute. However, Como responded with a flurry of attacks in the first half, only to be denied by the impressive Marco Carnesecchi in the Atalanta goal.
The second half saw a remarkable turnaround. Within just 13 minutes, Como scored three goals to take control of the match. Gabriel Strefezza leveled the score with a powerful strike, Nico Paz put them ahead with a deflected shot, and Alieu Fadera sealed the victory with a brilliant individual goal.
Atalanta fought back late in the game, with Ademola Lookman converting a penalty in the 98th minute, but it was too little, too late. The victory lifted Como out of the relegation zone and sent a clear message to the rest of the league.
For Atalanta, the defeat was a disappointing setback. The Europa League champions have struggled to find their rhythm in Serie A, and their inconsistent form has raised concerns about their prospects for the season.
