Chelsea complete £15.6m signing of Boca Juniors defender Aaron Anselmino

Chelsea have secured the signing of 19-year-old Boca Juniors defender Aaron Anselmino in a £15.6m deal.

The young Argentine has agreed to a seven-year contract with the Premier League club but will remain on loan at Boca Juniors for the 2024-25 season as part of the transfer agreement.

Anselmino, who made his debut for Boca Juniors in June 2023, has appeared in 10 matches for the Argentine side. He had previously signed a contract extension in January 2024, keeping him at Boca until 2028, before Chelsea moved for his services.

This summer, Chelsea have made significant investments, spending approximately £115m on new signings, including midfielders Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Renato Veiga, and Omari Kellyman, as well as goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, defenders Tosin Adarabioyo and Caleb Wiley, winger Estevao Willian, and striker Marc Guiu.
