Carabao Cup holders Liverpool to face West Ham in third round

Liverpool, the reigning Carabao Cup champions, will begin their title defense with a challenging home fixture against West Ham United in the third round of the competition.

The match at Anfield is one of three all-Premier League ties, setting the stage for an intense round of action.

Other top-flight clashes include Everton hosting Southampton at Goodison Park and Brighton welcoming Wolves to the Amex Stadium. These matchups promise high stakes as teams vie for a place in the next round.

In one of the more intriguing fixtures, League Two side Barrow, who have reached the third round for the first time since the 1967-68 season, will travel to Stamford Bridge to face last season’s beaten finalists, Chelsea. Meanwhile, AFC Wimbledon, who pulled off an upset by defeating Premier League side Ipswich Town on penalties in the second round, will host Newcastle United.

Arsenal are set to take on Bolton Wanderers at the Emirates Stadium, while Manchester United will face Barnsley at Old Trafford. Premier League champions Manchester City will play Championship side Watford at the Etihad Stadium, and Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur have been drawn away to Wycombe Wanderers and Coventry City, respectively.
