CAF Champions League: FC Samartex optimistic of doing well

Head Coach for FC Samartex 1996 Nurudeen Amadu admits the CAF Champions League will not be an easy competition for Samartex but he’s hopeful they will reach far.

FC Samartex won the Ghana Premier League for the first time in their history in the just ended season. By virtue of that they will represent Ghana in the upcoming season of the Champions League.

Making their debut appearance in the competition, Nurudeen Amadou says the team is highly motivated to do well.

“Since it’s our debut, we are also trying to go far, trying to do our best. It’s not going to be easy. The technical team, the playing body, the management and the investors, are all motivated to carry the team to a different level.” He said.

The Timber Giants will play against  Cameroonian champions, Victoria United FC in the preliminary round of the competition. The first leg of the game will take place  on August 18, at the Omnisport Stadium in Limbe, Cameroon before the second leg comes off in Accra on 25th August 2024.
