Ghanaian striker Brandon Thomas-Asante was in action for Coventry City as they battled to a 2-2 draw against Sunderland in the English Championship.
The 25-year-old, who joined Coventry from West Bromwich Albion in the summer, started the match and was later replaced by Norman Bassette.
Sunderland took an early lead through Wilson Isidor in the 17th minute, and Dennis Cirkin doubled their advantage shortly after. However, Coventry fought back with Haji Wright pulling one back in the 62nd minute. Jack Rudoni then secured a point for the Sky Blues with an equalizer in the 84th minute.
With the draw, Coventry City are now 17th in the Championship table with 16 points from 15 matches. Their next league encounter is against Sheffield United on November 23rd.
Brandon Thomas-Asante has been a valuable asset for Coventry this season, contributing 3 goals and 1 assist in 16 appearances across all competitions.
Elsewhere in the English Championship, another Ghanaian, midfielder Forson Amankwah, came off the bench for Norwich City in their 2-0 defeat to Bristol City. This was his 15th appearance for the club since joining from Austrian side Salzburg in the summer.
