Ghanaian forward Brandon Thomas-Asante is brimming with optimism about his future after joining Coventry City.
The 25-year-old, who impressed last season with 12 goals and two assists for West Bromwich Albion, believes his new club, and particularly assistant manager George Boateng, can propel his career to new heights.
Thomas-Asante revealed his excitement about linking up with Boateng, a former Ghana national team scout. “Obviously, I was very familiar with George (Boateng) and he would come down to watch me for West Brom doing some scouting work for Ghana during his time there,” Thomas-Asante said. “So when I saw that he was a coach here, knowing that he had a fondness for my game, it made sense and obviously he comes with the credentials he’s got through his playing career and coaching career.”
The Ghanaian international is convinced that working closely with Boateng will be instrumental in his development. “As well as working with the manager, definitely working with George is something that I feel like can give me the edge to take me to the next level,” he added.
Brandon Thomas-Asante will be looking to hit the ground running when Coventry City kick off their season against Stoke City on August 10.
