Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl is intensifying efforts to secure a major new contract for Jamal Musiala, with Manchester City and Chelsea expressing a genuine interest in signing the talented midfielder if he becomes available.
The Bundesliga champions have several key players nearing the end of their contracts, including Leroy Sane, Thomas Muller, Joshua Kimmich, Manuel Neuer, and Alphonso Davies, all of whom have deals expiring at the end of the current campaign.
While Bayern is keen to retain all of them, Musiala’s contract situation is considered a top priority, even though his current deal extends until the summer of 2026.
Sources indicate that Bayern Munich have already expressed their desire to renew Musiala’s contract, offering terms that could keep the 20-year-old German international in the Bundesliga for the long term.

However, Musiala has strong ties to players in the Premier League, and Bayern is aware of the strong interest from English football’s elite clubs.
Manchester City’s interest in Musiala has been well-documented, but they are not alone. Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, and even La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona are reportedly keen on the Bayern star.
With Pep Guardiola looking for a long-term replacement for Kevin De Bruyne, whose contract expires in 2025, Manchester City could be considered the frontrunners for Musiala’s signature.
Should De Bruyne choose not to extend his stay at the Etihad, the Cityzens could make a significant move for Jamal Musiala next summer to fill the void.
